NEVER RECOGNIZE
Baby-Doll frowned after many people walked by her. Not one person recognized her from Love That Baby. The television program she starred in years ago. Perhaps someone was going to recognize her catchphrase. Baby-Doll smiled. ''I didn't mean to,'' she said as she shook her head at a snail's pace.
Not one person stopped by Baby-Doll. Another frown appeared before her shoulders slumped. Baby-Doll's lower lip trembled while tears formed in her eyes. A new scowl materialized on her young face.
Someone was going to acknowledge Baby-Doll. She watched while a woman walked by her. She smiled the minute she viewed a diamond bracelet around the woman's wrist. Baby-Doll ran to her and seized the bracelet. Her eyes settled on the woman, but the latter never paused. They widened for a few seconds. She dropped the bracelet. Not even the victim acknowledged her.
Baby-Doll heard footsteps and turned to a cop. She viewed him scowling.
''You're not going to steal anything for some time,'' the cop said.
Baby-Doll started to smile again. ''You acknowledged me?'' She jumped up and down repeatedly. ''Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!''
After Baby-Doll was arrested, she eventually found herself in a cell. Other happy prisoners recognized her from Love That Baby.
''I didn't mean to,'' the fans said together.
Baby-Doll still smiled before she fell asleep.

ALWAYS ACT
A cake shop caused Baby-Doll to smile by a window. Her eyes were on a small chocolate cake. Her stomach began to growl. Baby-Doll always liked sweets. Almost always. She certainly didn't like eating sweets after the new Love That Baby character shoved her face into a birthday cake years ago. Cousin Spunky.
Naughty Cousin Spunky! Stealing her spotlight! Humiliating her!
Scowling, Baby-Doll remembered departing from Love That Baby and failing to succeed. Everyone hated that baby.
The dark sky was glanced at. Baby-Doll viewed the window another time. She thought she was able to enjoy the thought of eating sweets again. Her shoulders began to slump. A frown materialized on her face. Baby-Doll turned and abandoned the window. She wandered the streets.
Baby-Doll stumbled before her eyes widened. She fell forward. She winced the minute her body contacted the ground. After sitting up, Baby-Doll viewed a cut on her knee. Tears appeared in her eyes. Baby-Doll began to sob in a downpour.
People ran by as they searched for shelter. Quick glances at Baby-Doll. They remembered her from Love That Baby. People thought Baby-Doll's tears were false. A sad expression that wasn't true. It was a mere act to them before they abandoned her in the rain.
THE END
BABY-DOLL'S NECKLACE
Baby-Doll glanced at her dress collar before she frowned. It was time to add something to the dress. A new smile appeared. Baby-Doll glanced at a few women as they walked by her. A necklace to steal. A necklace to add to her outfit. Any necklace. She wasn't going to be picky.
Baby-Doll's frown returned. A woman in a toddler's body couldn't exactly reach up and seize a necklace. She decided to use her appearance to obtain a necklace for herself. False tears formed in Baby-Doll's eyes. Her lower lip trembled. Her shoulders moved up and down.
A woman appeared with concern in her eyes. ''You poor thing. Did you wander from your mother?''
Baby-Doll focused on the woman and nodded. Her eyes settled on the latter's necklace, but it was too high. She didn't need her any longer. Baby-Doll looked ahead and smiled. ''Mommy! There you are!'' She ran to a barren area.
After pausing, Baby-Doll waited for another woman to appear with a necklace. Other women never appeared. Her frown came back before she tapped her foot repeatedly. A new smile materialized as soon as two women appeared. Baby-Doll watched as they approached her. It was time to act again. There were new tears.
The women never viewed Baby-Doll. They walked by her.
Baby-Doll gasped after one of the women dropped a necklace. She ran to the necklace and lifted it. She wore it and smiled again. Baby-Doll was hungry. Someone was going to drop a chocolate treat near her? Maybe!
THE END
BABY-DOLL'S STROLL
One smile formed on Baby-Doll's face as she wandered the streets. She viewed a few happy people walking by her and nodding.
She figured they recognized her from Love That Baby. Her eyes were on a woman before the happy latter approached her.
''Mary? Mary Dahl? Baby?''
The woman watched as Baby-Doll nodded. ''I'm a big fan of Love That Baby. I love your catchphrase. Please say your catchphrase.''
''I didn't mean to,'' Baby-Doll said as she shook her head slowly.
The woman continued to smile. She revealed a pad of paper with a pen and gave them to Baby-Doll. ''I'm Elizabeth.'' She took the paper and pen after Baby-Doll returned them to her. ''To Elizabeth. I didn't mean to! Love, Baby.'' She thanked Baby-Doll and left.
Baby-Doll's smile remained as three more enthusiasts approached her. Her catchphrase was repeated. There were new autographs.
She started to shut her eyes. Baby-Doll opened them and found herself alone by many shops. People walked by her. They never acknowledged her.
Baby-Doll wasn't recognized. ''I didn't mean to.'' Not one person stopped by her. Baby-Doll continued to smile before tears filled her eyes and ran down her face.
THE END
ONE SNACK
Baby-Doll smiled and stood on a chair in a kitchen. She began to focus on a slice of chocolate cake. One snack before Lyle Bolton appeared. The cruel security guard usually tied Arkham Asylum inmates to their beds due to loathing villains. She was happy that Lyle forgot to tie her to the bed this time. She had to devour the cake slice as soon as possible.
Baby-Doll ate at a fast pace after she heard footsteps. There was a glance back.
Lyle scowled at Baby-Doll.
''I didn't mean to,'' Baby-Doll said.
Lyle continued to scowl before he lifted Baby-Doll. He viewed her dropping the slice and carried her to a cell. He tied her to a bed and abandoned her.
The next day, Baby-Doll returned to the kitchen. Her eyes widened as soon as she viewed many vegetables on the table. Baby-Doll stepped back and turned to Lyle. She watched while he frowned. ''Eat every vegetable?'' Baby-Doll viewed a small smile with a nod.
Her shoulders slumped. Her lower lip trembled.

A PERFECT CAKE
A birthday cake always caused Baby-Doll to smile. That was until the new Love That Baby character pushed her face in it.
Naughty Cousin Spunky! A new birthday cake was why Baby-Doll frowned within one Arkham Asylum cell. Was she able to enjoy eating birthday cakes again? She glanced back.
Lyle Bolton and other Arkham Asylum inmates were never present. Certainly not Cousin Spunky.
Eyes were on the cake another time. Baby-Doll still frowned. She refused to remember Spunky again. She wouldn't remember why she was within one of Arkham Asylum's cells. Maybe a little bit. So she robbed a bank recently. She didn't mean to!
Baby-Doll took a bit of cake and ate it slowly. One new smile materialized on her face. Not one person was going to shove her face in cake again. Baby-Doll's stomach never ached. The cake was good. A perfect birthday.
THE END
PERFECT PETS
Baby-Doll wandered the streets as she frowned. There weren't any pockets to pick or others looking different just like her. A woman with eternal youth. A woman in the body of a toddler. Baby-Doll wondered if she was able to find a pet. The perfect pet for her.
Baby-Doll's eyes flew open as soon as she viewed a stray kitten walking out of a dark alley. A pet for her? At least it was small like her. For now. Baby-Doll smiled and approached the kitten with caution. She extended her arm in front of it.
The kitten was curious and walked to Baby-Doll. It began to purr.
Baby-Doll continued to smile. ''Friends forevers and evers!'' she said to the kitten. Her eyes were wide again the minute the kitten turned and ran to its mother. ''Friends forevers and evers!'' Baby-Doll said as she scowled and the kitten departed with its mother.
THE END
ONE HOUR
The Sewer King scowled before he looked back. His children never returned from obtaining lots and lots of pretties. He turned to a sick pet alligator. Worry appeared in the Sewer King's eyes. He continued to scowl. He viewed the alligator writhing repeatedly.
*My pretty pet was sick for almost one hour. Yes. Yes. Yes.* The Sewer King crouched and scratched the alligator's snout. He didn't laugh in a gentle tone this time. The alligator's tail never wagged.
Eyes were wide after the pet ceased writhing. The alligator tried to stand. It began to wag its tail at a snail's pace.
The Sewer King smiled and wrapped his arms around the alligator. ''You're going to be fine. I'm going to be fine,'' he said.
Many children appeared in darkness. They walked to the Sewer King and placed many valuables near him.
One hour almost ended. The Sewer King continued to smile near his alligator and new valuables. ''My pet is going to be fine. I'm going to be fine.''

CROSS LYLE BOLTON'S PATH
Lyle Bolton frowned and wandered the streets for what seemed like hours. It was his day off and there weren't any villains for him to torment. Not within Arkham Asylum. Not on the streets. Lyle tried to remember which villains were released recently. He vaguely remembered a villain known as the Sewer King being released from prison a few hours ago. The man's crime? Forcing children to work in a dark sewer and pick pockets for him.
Lyle viewed a butler carrying two boxes across the street. He recalled viewing him shopping occasionally. Mumbling about Bruce Wayne. He recognized him as Alfred Pennyworth. There weren't any problems with Alfred. As long as he didn't interfere with him trying to capture villains.
Lyle's eyes were on the Sewer King as the latter smiled and wiggled his fingers near a woman's necklace. He remembered a newspaper photo of the Sewer King. A man with shoulder length black hair. A man wearing a red cloak with a frilly blouse and a brown suit.
One corner of Lyle's mouth went up. *You won't steal anything for a long time* he thought. Lyle walked to the Sewer King and seized the front of his blouse as the woman departed. He turned the villain so that he faced him. He saw the latter's wide eye behind round half-shades. ''Picking pockets? You're not going to pick other pockets in a cell. Your Majesty!''
Lyle began to look back after he heard footsteps. A scowl replaced his smile the minute Alfred appeared. He saw concern in the latter's eyes.
''Please release that poor man,'' Alfred said.
''That poor man tried to steal a woman's necklace.'' Lyle continued to hold the Sewer King's blouse as he lifted him.
He carried him to Arkham Asylum.
Hours later, Lyle stood near the Sewer King's cell. He viewed the latter trembling. One new smile formed.
''The king is a frightened kitten. A frightened kitten without claws.'' Lyle laughed.
''I'll be released tomorrow? Yes? Yes? Yes?''
''Never. Never. Never,'' Lyle said before he abandoned the Sewer King.
THE END
NEAR PETS
Scowling, the Sewer King stood by a few pet alligators. He remembered society shunning him recently. Throwing stones and bottles at him. People glowering. Hitting a poverty-stricken man. Chasing him into the sewer.
The Sewer King turned to the alligators before he smiled. ''You protected me from enemies. Yes. Yes. Yes. You snarled at enemies. You caused them to flee,'' he said.
The alligators wagged their tails at the same time. They heard the Sewer King while he laughed in a gentle tone.
Their snouts were scratched.
The Sewer King recalled sending a few children to steal lots and lots of pretties earlier. Valuables with chocolate.
He heard footsteps and turned to his children. The Sewer King viewed them placing items on the floor. He scowled at them. There weren't
any valuables or sweets. The Sewer King focused on the fruit pile and continued to scowl.

THE EARLY EVENING
Reverend Amos Howell glanced at the early evening sky and smiled. He recalled wandering Smallville for hours.
Perhaps there was going to be another person to preach to. His eyes were wide as soon as a spaceship appeared. Reverend Amos Howell
stepped back when an alien with many eyes and tentacles emerged from it. His tears were revealed after tentacles wrapped around him. After he was controlled. After he became Unity's preacher.
It was a new early evening. Reverend Amos Howell recalled preaching near new victims of Unity earlier.
He viewed the sky. Another evening as Unity's preacher. New tears.

THE ATTACK
Kara turned to Reverend Amos Howell and smiled after lunch within a Metropolis restaurant. She never imagined eating with an alien in human form. It was a nice day so far. Zero dark clouds. Zero thieves. She tensed when three teens appeared.
''Nice items for us?''
The teens ran to Kara and Amos before they attacked them.
Kara dodged a punch and refused to kill. She watched as Amos smiled. She shuddered. Amos seemed willing to kill.
A tentacle emerged from the preacher's mouth and struck a teen.
Kara and Amos abandoned the unconscious teen.
Kara scowled.
''I never killed.''

AFTERNOON MOMENTS
Reverend Amos Howell smiled as he ate a large slice of chocolate cake. It was the usual afternoon. He always tried to enjoy every moment. Reverend Amos Howell glanced at Kara while she sat across from him and ate one cake slice. ''Enjoy every moment. You never know when your life is going to end,'' he said.
Kara frowned. ''Uh huuuuh.'' She finished eating the slice before she stood. ''It's almost time for vacation slides.''
Reverend Amos Howell's eyes widened for a moment. After eating, he found himself scowling and viewing vacation slides.
He slouched and couldn't enjoy every moment.
THE END
KARA'S VISIT
Kara began to blink after she abandoned a restaurant and viewed Reverend Amos Howell standing in Metropolis.
''Why are you here?''
''Martha and Jonathan Kent were busy.''
''They sent you to bring me home?''
After viewing Reverend Amos Howell nodding, Kara followed him. At least there weren't enemies to battle in Metropolis.
Reverend Amos Howell frowned and looked ahead.
''Your eyes are creepy,'' Kara said after she shuddered.
One smile stretched Reverend Amos Howell's long face.
Kara shuddered again before a teen walked by her.
''Your father is creepy.''
Kara's eyes widened.
''A preacher's dear daughter,'' Amos said.
''Any enemies?''
